It is a retail site that has outgrown its own usefulness - knowledge about the myriad products is scant. Now two staff from same department were asked to help me - well they were mostly shelf stockers that were unable to provide assistance - I can read boxes & check item after item for features, but was hoping to have two questions answered for a quick shopping trip. Nope. Mislead, misdirected and got some supplies after 1.5 hrs of researching products myself.
When I specifically explain why I don't want X and need Y I should not have to endure a lecture about the excelling features of X and have it presented as the only wise choice for me! Ugh!!
Then nearly 18 minutes at checkout lines - in fairness it was the customers at the head of the line being difficult, wanting staff to know every price & trust the customer's pricing knowledge, not having payment methods ready etc. The eight checkout staff seemed very capable, mine was at any rate & my few items were purchased in moments once it was my turn in the chute!
One of the worst places I've ever worked. They don't work around your schedule unless you say you'll quit. Management in most departments are a joke and are NOT trained or have any prior experience or education for their position. Lots of favoritism towards lesser employees that do nothing. Employees beat around the bush to answer questions about products because they haven't had the training to properly do so.
You can not go wrong shopping here? Great place for a few Xmas goodies!
Great store, very good prices, nice bright and clean atmosphere.Only negative is they are often out of specials. Overall much better than home depot or Lowe's.
Steer clear of the "off brand" tools and equipment here!!! Almost all of them are manufactered by places either owned by menards or in places menards has a "vested" interest in and are utter and total garbage!!!!!!
